Terms of Services

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Twoory ("we", "us", "our") governing your access to and use of the Twoory mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read them carefully.

By creating an account, downloading, installing or using the App, or signing up on our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use our Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Twoory, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. You must meet the following age requirements to use our Service:

  • USA / general: at least 13 years old (COPPA).

  • EU/EEA: at least 16 years old, or the applicable national age of digital consent in your country (e.g. 14 in Spain/Italy, 15 in France, 16 in Germany).

  • UK: at least 13 years old.

Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer under applicable law, including EU Directive 2011/83/EU and EU Directive 2019/770.

2. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. For material changes that significantly affect your rights, we will provide at least 14 days' notice via in-app notification or email before changes take effect. For minor clarificatory changes, updating the "Last Updated" date above is sufficient notice.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept the changes, please stop using the Service and delete your account before they take effect.

3. Description of Service

Twoory is a private relationship app designed exclusively for couples. The Service includes:

  • Private 1:1 messaging between paired partners (text, photos, videos, voice notes, GIFs).

  • Activities, questions, quizzes and relationship-building games.

  • AI relationship coach ("Luna") — informational only, not professional advice.

  • Shared timeline, memories, moods, goals, bucket/wish lists and milestones.

  • Optional location sharing, calendar sync, push notifications, biometric lock and two-factor authentication.

We may update, add or remove features at any time. The Service is offered "as is" and "as available".

4. Account Registration & Partner Pairing

  • To access the App, you must create an account with accurate information.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

  • Partner pairing requires both users to actively consent. You may unpair at any time via Settings.

  • You may not pair with a minor below the applicable age of digital consent, nor with anyone without their clear and ongoing agreement.

  • Notify us immediately at support@twoory.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You must NOT:

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, abuse, defame or harm any person.

  • Share illegal content, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual intimate imagery, hate speech, terrorist content or content that infringes intellectual-property rights.

  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

  • Use the Service for commercial solicitation, spam, scams, phishing or money laundering.

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape or bypass any security controls or rate limits.

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers or connected networks.

  • Share your account credentials or allow any other person to use your account.

In line with the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), we review abuse reports promptly and may remove content or suspend accounts. We have a zero-tolerance policy for CSAM and will cooperate fully with law-enforcement authorities. You may report abuse via Settings → Help & Support → Report a Problem.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Service — including text, graphics, logos, code, design, and branding — is the property of Twoory or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works from any content without our prior written consent, except as permitted by applicable law.

7. User Content

  • You retain ownership of any content you create or upload through the Service ("User Content").

  • You grant Twoory a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, cache, transmit, display and process your User Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and your paired partner. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to backup retention described in our Privacy Policy.

  • You must not upload or share content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or infringes the rights of others.

  • You represent that you have all necessary rights to the content you share, including any photos, videos, or media.

8. AI Features & Disclaimers

Luna, Twoory's in-app AI relationship coach:

  • Is a generative AI assistant, not a licensed therapist, medical professional or lawyer.

  • Provides responses for general information and inspiration only — not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.

  • Is not a substitute for professional services. For emergencies, call your local emergency number. For mental-health crises, contact a qualified professional.

  • May produce inaccurate or biased outputs. Always use your own judgement and verify important information independently.

Transparency (EU AI Act): you are interacting with an AI system. Your conversations with Luna are processed by our AI provider solely to generate replies and are not used to train foundational AI models.

9. Subscriptions & Payments

Some features require a paid subscription, billed through Apple App Store or Google Play.

  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

  • Manage / cancel: via your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does NOT cancel your subscription.

  • Free trials: any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a paid subscription.

  • Price changes: we will give prior notice of price changes. EEA/UK users: material increases require your affirmative consent where required by law.

  • Refunds: handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies. EEA/UK consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU; by using premium features during this period you consent to immediate performance and may lose the right of withdrawal once the service is fully performed.

10. Third-Party Links & Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate third-party features. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party. Accessing third-party links or features is at your own risk, and we encourage you to review the relevant third-party terms and privacy policies.

11. Privacy & Data Protection

Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. It explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data, your rights under GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, international data transfers, retention periods and data-breach procedures.

12. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children below the applicable minimum age (see Section 1). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below this age. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately at privacy@twoory.com and we will delete it promptly.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, secure or continuously available.

Nothing in the Service constitutes medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.

Consumer statutory rights: if you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights under EU, UK or other applicable consumer law are not affected by this section.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Twoory, its directors, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (iii) gross negligence or wilful misconduct; or (iv) any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold Twoory, its affiliates, directors, employees and agents harmless from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising from your User Content, your breach of these Terms, your violation of any applicable law, or your infringement of any third-party rights. This clause does not apply to the extent it is prohibited by applicable consumer law.

16. Termination

  • By you: you may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion removes your personal data from our primary systems within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations.

  • By us: we may suspend or terminate your access with reasonable prior notice for material breach of these Terms, or immediately in cases of illegal activity, safety risks, fraud, or applicable legal requirements. EU/UK consumers will be given reasons and an effective appeal mechanism as required by the DSA.

Termination does not affect any rights or obligations accrued before the termination date.

17. Governing Law

Consumers in the EEA/UK: these Terms are governed by the laws of your country of habitual residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

All other users: these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of Twoory's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

18. Apple App Store — Additional Terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store: (a) these Terms are solely between you and Twoory, not Apple; (b) Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App; (c) Apple is not responsible for any product liability, legal compliance, or third-party IP claims; (d) in case of a warranty failure, Apple will refund the purchase price — Apple has no further warranty obligation; and (e) Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

19. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale. These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Twoory regarding the Service.
